Mika Hakkinen will take over the career of F2 driver Kush Maini

Kush Maini, a 23-year-old driver from India, who has been competing for Campos in Formula 2 this year and has already stood on the podium once, said that his future career in motorsport will be managed by Mika Hakkinen.

Maini started his debut season in F2 well, scoring points in eight of the first ten rounds of the youth championship, including third in Saturday’s sprint in Melbourne, but has since slowed down and is 11th in the standings heading into the season finale. rankings.

“I am very happy to announce that two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen will become my mentor and will take over my career from now on,” Maini announced on his social media pages. “I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most celebrated racers.”

Hakkinen eventually retired in 2007 – this was the Finn’s last season in the DTM touring car series – after which he began to specialize in motorsport management together with business partners, and perhaps the greatest success among his clients was Valtteri Bottas.

Maini’s most notable performance in the youth series was 2nd place in British F3 in 2020. In 2022 he finished the Formula 3 season in 14th place and will most likely finish his debut season in F2 outside the top ten.
