Oscar Piastri does not drive in France

Two weeks ago there were rumors that Alpine reserve driver Oscar Piastri would participate in the first practice at the French Grand Prix, but these have not been confirmed. The sports director said that the Australian will be behind the wheel after the summer break.

Otmar Szafnauer: “We never planned Oscar’s participation in the French Grand Prix. This season he will drive in the first training session, but then after the summer break.

His move to Williams? You better ask Jost Capito about this. It’s great that one of our young drivers is so popular with other teams. This speaks to its potential.

Piastri’s contract with our team is partly related to Fernando Alonso’s future. In May I said we would start thinking about next year’s squad at Silverstone and make a decision after the summer break. Let’s wait a few more weeks.”
