Formula 3: Isaac Hajjar wins at Silverstone

Isaac Hadjar won the Formula 3 race at Silverstone on Saturday. In the debut season, the Hitech pilot took the second win.

During the warm-up lap, Brad Benavidez lost speed due to car problems. By the time the peloton had already lined up on the grid, the Carlin racer was moving slowly through the ninth corner and trying to reach the pits under his own power. The race management canceled the start and the peloton left for another warm-up lap. As a result, Benavidez drove into the pit lane and the race started on the second attempt.

Pole holder Rhys Ushijima lost the lead in the first corner to Victor Marten. Over the course of the first lap, Rhys Kush nearly missed Maini in second, but held his position and even tried to counter-attack Marten, but to no avail.

A few leaders gradually widened the gap with the rest of the pack and traded the best laps. On the fourth lap in the battle for third, Isaac Hajjar overtook Kusha Maini in the Stowe corner.

On lap five, Ushijima made an attempt to regain the lead – the riders passed the Stowe corner side by side, but Marten didn’t let the opponent move forward, forcing him to leave the track. Hajjar took advantage of this battle and closed the gap with the pair of leaders. As a result, Isaac overtook Ushijima on lap eight and climbed into second.

On lap nine, Arthur Leclerc overtook teammate Oliver Berman for ninth.

On the tenth lap Zdeněk fell Chovanek Laszlo Until the last corner, Zdenk didn’t keep the car on the pavement, he turned around and was thrown on his partner’s car. There were multiple collisions between the Charouz riders, leaving Chovanek with a broken front suspension on the track and driving Tot towards the pits. A safety car drove onto the track so that the marshals evacuated Zdeněk’s car.

The race resumed on the thirteenth lap. At the restart in the top ten everyone kept their position. Hajjar started to put pressure on the leader and made the first attempt to attack Marten on lap fifteen. The maneuver failed, but a circle later Isaac acted more determined and overtook Marten in front of Stowe.

Isaac Hajjar led the race to victory. Victor Marten kept second, preventing Risu Ushijima from attacking. In addition to winning, Isaac recorded the best lap of the race.

Second place allowed Marten, the individual classification leader, to widen the gap on closest pursuer Roman Stanek, who finished sixth.
