The Haas team brought a redesigned car to the home podium in Austin. At the FIA press conference, Kevin Magnussen explained what he expected from the new products.
Kevin Magnussen: “It’s nice to see new things on the car. This year we haven’t had many updates. This season we are struggling to find speed – the engineers are struggling to make this car go faster.
The new products coming to Austin are exciting. The car has even changed appearance: we have a different concept and I hope we can use it in next year’s car. If it turns out that the new products do not provide a good speed increase, this will also be good for our training and we will receive information for next year.
The car’s biggest problem this season is that it doesn’t handle the tires well over the race distance. When racing, our tires often wear out quickly as we try to attack at the same pace as our opponents. We hope that new products will solve this problem. Anyway, everyone in the team is excited.”
