Mick Schumacher finished eighth at Silverstone and scored points for the first time in his career. His teammate Kevin Magnussen finished tenth, the first time since the 2019 German Grand Prix that Haas scored points with two cars. This result enabled the team to stay ahead of Aston Martin in the battle for eighth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Mick Schumacher (8th): “We are very happy! I started 19th but we had the speed to climb up – today we managed. A great result for the team – we earned points with two cars, which certainly helped a lot in the Constructors’ Championship.
As for me, I’m glad I can now focus on what’s really important: racing and piloting.”
Kevin Magnussen (10th): “I don’t think we could have hoped for more. I didn’t have the best pace in the first stint, at least not compared to the second stint, where I could improve. I lost a few positions in the first stint, which was a shame, but thanks to the safety car I was able to bounce back at the end.
The team let us both into the pits, but I decided to stay on track. I don’t know if this decision was right or not, but if it turned out to be wrong, it was still mine.
We are very happy to have earned points with two cars – at this stage of the season we already have quite a few points in our account, which is very good. The team is leaving Silverstone with big smiles on their faces and great motivation for the upcoming races.”
Gunther Steiner, team leader: “I’m very happy for the whole team – today we earned points with two cars. A well-deserved result that has nothing to do with luck. We started 17th and 19th and finished 8th and 10th – we couldn’t ask for more.
The cars were fast, the guys had great pit stops. All we need now is to perform well in qualifying. Then we will show better results in races and we can return to the game.”
