Official Formula E testing is taking place at Spain’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia these days, and this afternoon there was alarming news of a fire breaking out in the pit lane.
The press service of the electric series, without providing specific details about the incident, released the following statement:
“During the break between sessions, a fire was noticed in the pit lane and there was smoke in the pit area. First responders working at the track took immediate action to prevent the fire from spreading, and the main building and pits were quickly evacuated.
One person was treated and taken to hospital for further examination.
“Formula E, the FIA and the local fire brigade are investigating the cause of the incident and will subsequently provide information about the incident.”
