Kimi Raikkonen, who retired from Formula 1 two years ago, has a new job: the 2007 world champion signed a contract with the Chinese company Zeekr and will now become chief performance advisor for this brand.
Zeekr is a young brand, has only been around for a few years, but clearly has very serious ambitions. The manufacturer of premium electric vehicles is part of the Geely group, which since 2010 also owns the Swedish company Volvo, the British London EV, which produces the famous London taxis, but on electricity, and a major stake in Lotus .
Presumably Kimi, as they say, will have to teach Zeekr how to drive cars, and he can do that.
Posters appeared on the company’s social media pages with a portrait of one of the most popular Formula 1 drivers, albeit a former one, with a short accompanying text: “Zeekr is pleased to welcome champion Kimi Raikkonen to his team, where he will main speed advisor for the car Zeekr 001 FR has become faster and cooler. Follow the news”.
The slogan on the poster is apt: “When the best performing electric car meets the best racer.”
You don’t have to wait long for news: the official presentation of the Zeekr 001 FR will take place in Beijing on October 27 and Kimi will of course also be present there. By the way, this car is already for sale in Russia.
