GM offered to find another team in Andretti’s place

Despite the fact that the FIA has approved Michael Andretti’s application to compete in Formula 1, the final decision on whether to start the Andretti Cadillac team rests with the championship management.

The international news agency Associated Press reports based on sources that the management of Formula 1 has approached representatives of General Motors with the proposal to look for another team for cooperation instead of Andretti. Formula 1 reportedly hopes that if GM refuses to work with Andretti, it will financially weaken the position of Michael Andretti’s project, and they can then deny the American team access to the championship.

At the same time, Formula 1 is interested in such a large partner as General Motors, so they offer the American concern to find another team for cooperation.
