Hungarian Hungary Today writes about the reconstruction of the Hungaroring. The government has recently decided on the second phase of work, the winner of the tender has been determined and the tender procedure has been completed.
“Soon, the Hungaroring will greet fans with a new look. The first phase of reconstruction is already underway and the government has now approved the second phase, which includes the renovation of the main building, paddock and main stand with a capacity of 10,000 seats.
The paddock expansion will be completed in 2024. If all goes according to plan, the main grandstand will be demolished and replaced with a temporary grandstand for next year’s race.
According to the contract with Formula 1 management, no unfinished buildings or construction work may take place on the circuit during the Grand Prix. The situation is complicated by the fact that almost all tickets for next year’s race have been sold, so the schedule is very tight,” circuit representatives said.
