Charles Leclerc showed the third fastest time in the second training session in Mexico City, losing less than three tenths to leader Max Verstappen. His Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz lost time in the first session of free practice due to hydraulic problems, and in the second session he posted the eleventh fastest time.
Charles Leclerc (3rd): “All in all a positive day, where we tested everything we wanted. We evaluated all the rubber compounds and worked with the settings.
With only Friday behind us, we still have a lot of work to do before we start qualifying and the race. The team will analyze all the information collected and continue working to take a step forward.”
Carlos Sainz (11th): “Busy Friday in Mexico City because we were working on prototype tires, which always affects the program. Despite minor problems during the first training, we were able to complete the main points of the program in the remaining time.
There is still work to be done before I qualify. I’m looking forward to studying the telemetry and then getting behind the wheel again in the third session.
The atmosphere was great today! Thank you to all the fans for your support!”
