Mexican runnerRed Bull » Sergio Perez had an accident during the first lap of the Formula 1 Grand Prix at home.
The driver started the race from fifth place, but thanks to the acceleration on the long starting straight, he became one of the leaders, catching up with Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and his teammate Max Verstappen. The Mexican tried to stay ahead during late braking, but his car was overtaken by Leclerc’s car. Pérez was able to return to the track, but the team called its driver back to the pits due to serious technical damage.
The Mexican Grand Prix race continues at present, with Verstappen in the lead.
