Video: A lap of Interlagos with Charles Leclerc

Before the Brazilian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc drove around the virtual circuit in Interlagos on a simulator, talking about its features along the way.

Charles Leclerc: “Hello everyone! We are in Brazil, where the last sprint stage of the year will take place. The Brazilian weekend is always special and here it is very important immediately during Friday training to make sure you are comfortable in the car, because there is very little time to find the right settings.

A circuit with a rich history and its own characteristic features, and Brazil is also the birthplace of the one and only Ayrton Senna. I have always been a big fan of his talent, he is a legendary racer and always will be.

I really like the circuit in Sao Paulo, and what gives it a unique character are mainly the curbs that are located both on the outside and on the inside of the corners. Taking the long bends of Interlagos is a pleasure; for example, the fast Ferrardura corner is very difficult, and when braking the car must be positioned as straight as possible to prevent the front wheels from locking.

The same applies to the chicane of turns 8 and 9, where it is better not to let the front wheels lock, because then the last part of the lap begins, and there the track first goes down, then we pass turn 11 at full throttle. Coming out of this left turn you need to maintain a good speed, which requires the drive wheels to hold the track well when accelerating towards the start and finish straight.

It takes a very long time and you complete a lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix circuit. I hope to see you in Sao Paulo this weekend!”
