Drugovich will continue to work with Aston Martin in 2024

Aston Martin F1 said Brazilian Felipe Drugovich will continue to serve as the team’s test driver and reserve driver in 2024, as well as holding practice in Abu Dhabi on Friday behind the wheel of Fernando Alonso’s car.

Throughout the year, Drugovich underwent intensive training, driving the AMR21, a two-year-old car, on several European circuits, and in total he drove it about 6,000 km, as well as the AMR22 and AMR23.

In 2024, Felipe will continue to attend the Grand Prix as a reserve driver for the team, and will also work on the simulator at Aston Martin at Silverstone, helping engineers and assessing the effectiveness of certain solutions and technical innovations.

Felipe Drugovich: “I am very proud to continue working with Aston Martin next season. I learned a lot this year, not only on the track, but also working with the team engineers in the simulator and during the training program that was tailor-made especially for me.

I am proud of my contribution to the common cause, and I am happy that I have been able to contribute to the overall progress and modernization of the AMR23. “I now plan to turn my attention to preparing for training in Abu Dhabi and am already looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the AMR23 again.”

Mike KrakTeam boss: “Everyone at Aston Martin is very happy that Felipe will stay with us in 2024. He is already known in the team, he understands what his role is and he is distinguished by a very correct attitude to the matter. He also demonstrated his speed and experience when replacing the injured Lance Stroll during pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Every time Felipe gets behind the wheel, we feel how useful his contribution is: the information he provides to the engineers is very valuable. We are already preparing to give him another opportunity to drive the AMR23 during training in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season and look forward to continuing our productive partnership with him next year.”
