The home race in Mexico City ended for Sergio Perez in the first corner of the first lap. On Thursday in Sao Paulo, the Red Bull Racing driver said he is no longer thinking about the missed opportunities in the last stage and is ready to fight for victory this weekend.
Sergio Perez: “On Monday I was sad until about noon, but then I put the events of that race in the past. I’m an athlete and I know these things happen. Yes, I’m emotional, but I know how to leave past disappointments behind and move forward with my head held high.
I know that I always do my best and I am proud of that. Now I’m looking forward to the last three races of the season.
I think the last two stages have been very positive, even if I haven’t been able to put all the pieces together. I think I’ve made a lot of progress, so I’m optimistic about the start of the weekend and I hope I can finally show all the speed we have.”
