Piastri: Difficult challenges await us in Brazil

In Brazil, Oscar Piastri is introduced to a new track, which he has never driven on before, and the Australian McLaren driver expects that the weekend program with a sprint could complicate things a bit.

Oscar Piastri: “I think we have already found most of the answers to the questions about the pace deficit at the Mexico City circuit. I think the qualifying there turned out in a special way for many: some managed to improve noticeably between the second and third sessions, while others, including myself, did not. But I wasn’t the only one here.

However, there are certain points that need to be better understood. If we talk about the race, everything went more or less normally on Sunday. But the damage the car suffered after the restart was quite noticeable and caused a drop in pace. But I would say that the weekend as a whole went better for me than the Austin stage.

Even though it may not have seemed that way from the outside. But I have actually received answers to many questions, but here in Brazil I will be reintroduced to a new path for me and in that respect I will have to take on a new challenge.

I foresee that there will be difficult problems that need to be solved. I have already walked the route and it turned out that the terrain here is much hillier than it seems from the outside – on TV or in computer games. But this is a classic old-school circuit and I will try to get myself in the right mood because the last sprint of the season is waiting for us.

There is only one training session, and this always makes life complicated for both me and the team, but we have to talk about all teams here. But I’m happy that we arrived in Brazil and I’m happy that I got to know a new track for me.
