Guanyu Zhou: We will have more new products

After the race in Mexico City, the Alfa Romeo team dropped to ninth place in the constructors’ championship, behind AlphaTauri. On the eve of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, team driver Guanyu Zhou said there was still a chance to win back as the car’s speed will allow him to earn points.

Guanyu Zhou: “In the last races we changed our way of working, which allowed us to find a rhythm from the start of the weekend. In the last lap with the sprint we were competitive from the start due to the fact that the car was fast and efficient.

We still need to improve a bit in the long term because the results of the last race were disappointing. However, we continue to participate in the battle because we can earn points with the car.

We now have the same number of points as AlphaTauri, so the battle with them will continue until the season finale in Abu Dhabi. We will do everything we can to regain our position. But for this everything must be done correctly. Moreover, we will still have new products, and if they work as we expect, we can compete with our competitors.”
