Domenicali: Imola race important for all of Italy

Imola is preparing for the upcoming Grand Prix and yesterday in Bologna, the capital of the Italian province of Emilia-Romagna, the presentation of the official agreement with Formula 1, which ensures this race a place on the World Cup calendar until 2025, was presented.

For the second time in a row, the stage on the circuit of Enzo and Dino Ferrari will be held under the motto Made in Italy, and this year a full house is expected, which will not only involve the removal of all the restrictions that were in force during the pandemic, but also with the successful performances of the Scuderia.

The local authorities have made a major contribution to ensuring that the Imola race is back on the Formula 1 calendar.

“All these years we believed that this was possible, and now our dream has come true,” said Stefano Bonacchini, head of the Emilia-Romagna region, during yesterday’s presentation. – And this happens when the Ferrari team became competitive again, although no one believed it would happen so soon.

We hope there will be no empty seats in the stands. They say more than 100 thousand tickets have already been sold, so a full house is almost guaranteed, also thanks to Ferrari’s success. We expect the various economic activities associated with Formula 1 to generate more than €200 million this weekend.”

Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1 President and CEO also said his word at the presentation: “I was born in Imola, so I am especially proud to see the passion with which they treat the upcoming Grand Prix, which is so important for our whole country.

I would like to thank everyone who has made an effort to make the race possible. There are all indications that we are in for an incredibly successful weekend at Imola. It was not easy to organize two Grands Prix in Italy, so the contribution of the people who made this possible deserves special recognition.”

The presentation also included the official poster for the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, designed by renowned Italian designer Aldo Drudi. The three race cars depicted on it symbolize Italy’s flag, while the red one is still a little ahead, reflecting both the Italians’ attitude towards their favorite team and the state of affairs in the championship at the moment.
