Albon: The tires clearly don’t like this track

At Williams, Logan Sargent traditionally dropped out of the race in the first part of qualifying, and Alex Albon moved up to second and finished last.

Alex Albon (15th): “I had a great lap in the first part of qualifying, but we in the team know how quickly our car’s tires overheat. At Interlagos the corners follow each other without giving the tires a chance to rest, so if you are fast in one corner, you lose speed in the next corner due to overheating.

We have a lot to learn. On Sunday it is important to keep a close eye on the condition of the tires, as the tires clearly do not like this circuit. We kept the Soft kit, I hope it will help us tomorrow.

Logan Sargent (19th): “I drove well and the car was fine, but in qualifying I made a small mistake on the decisive lap in Turn 10, which prevented me from progressing.

I’m angry, but there are some positive aspects. In Interlagos our car is slower than our rivals, so small mistakes will get you off track straight away, but on Saturday we will try to do better.”
