McLaren is disappointed with the result of qualifying in Sao Paulo, which was stopped by red flags due to a thunderstorm…
Lando Norris (7th): “Today the car was great, it was very possible to fight for pole, so I’m very angry that everything ended like this.
I don’t know what to say about this. The car was fast and literally came alive in qualifying. Putting everything together in the last qualifying is always difficult, but I was fast enough. Friday was disappointing, but there wasn’t much we could do in that situation.”
Oscar Piastri (10th): “On the last attempt the car lost grip. I don’t know if it started raining at that moment or not, but it was very difficult. This can be judged by the lap time: everyone drove much slower than before.
I rode at the same pace as the lap before and unfortunately went off track. It’s a shame that this happened, the speed of the car was not bad, but tomorrow we will try again.”
