In Sao Paulo, Pirelli tire manufacturers achieved their 300th victory in Formula 1, the first being achieved in 1950 at the very first Grand Prix – at Silverstone…
Mario IsolaPirelli: “The race turned out to be eventful. The victory was once again achieved by Max Verstappen, who dominated this season, but behind him the battle was interesting.
Norris played his part, showing excellent pace and not losing much to Red Bull, while Alonso and Perez kept the crowd excited by dueling in the closing laps, and there were plenty of other interesting battles throughout the race.
All this happened on a track demanding on tires, with abrasive asphalt, so the drivers had to control their condition, which, however, did not prevent them from overtaking rivals even at the end of the segments.
The strategy and use of setups during the course confirmed our predictions. The vast majority of drivers opted to make two pit stops, and soft tires were used more often than others.
The weather was similar to yesterday, the C4 tires again required careful driving, but they performed better than the C3 and provided better grip. Almost everyone used Medium in the middle section and their lap times were absolutely comparable to Soft.”
