In 2023, Red Bull Racing has won 19 of the last 20 races. Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali has hinted that the championship could take measures to stop the clear dominance of one team.
Stefano Domenicali: “The dominance of one driver or one team has always been part of Formula 1. It must be taken into account that Max Verstappen has done and continues to do an incredible job to achieve such results. We must recognize this fact.
But when you look at the gaps in qualifying, the competition is incredibly tight, and in terms of overtakes the last two seasons have been some of the most productive.
Formula 1 cannot be seen as a sport where they are trying to do something to stop someone else’s dominance. This approach would be wrong. But on the other hand, the essence of Formula 1 is that other teams and drivers will also have the opportunity to compete at the highest level in the new season.”
