Formula 1 management is still silent on the prospects for a new team in the championship, as it is highly skeptical about the Andretti Cadillac project. At the same time, Formula 1 wants a major American manufacturer to come to the championship, so they suggested that General Motors look for another team to cooperate instead of Andretti.
When asked if GM was considering working with anyone other than Michael Andretti, GM’s president, Mark Reuss, said: “GM plans to enter Formula 1 racing with Andretti.
The Andretti Cadillac Project brings together two unique companies founded for racing. We both have a great history of success in motorsports around the world.”
General Motors executives will be at the Las Vegas Grand Prix next week to negotiate with FOM over the approval of Andretti Cadillac’s bid.
