Athletistic/ Formula 1. Carlos Sainz expressed his gratitude to the FIA for the progress made in driver safety.

Last weekend at the British Grand Prix there was an accident involving five drivers, as a result of which Guanyu Zhou’s car flew off the track. Earlier in the Formula junior series, there was also an accident. In both cases, the pilots were saved by halo protective frames.

“It’s a miracle that Zhou wasn’t injured after the accident. It seems incredible. It also shows that we are critical of the FIA, but in this case we have to give them their due. There was a serious accident in Formula 2 too.” Probably, the halo saved, at least, “two lives. I’m happy that we are in competitions where we reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers and can feel relatively safe,” Sainz said.
