Mario Andretti: I don’t understand Formula 1’s approach

We already told you that General Motors executives will come to Las Vegas for the race weekend to negotiate with Formula 1 management and facilitate the approval of Andretti Cadillac’s application.

Mario Andretti, the 1978 world champion and father of Michael Andretti, the project manager, wonders why many in Formula 1 are negative about the emergence of a new team.

Mario Andretti: “I don’t understand this approach of Formula 1. Racing series management must always assess the global picture as a whole.

Everyone I talk to believes that our image will only benefit the championship. We have done our best to meet the conditions. We are not asking for a favor, we just want to do what is asked of us.

For now, the plan is to debut in 2025, but time is of the essence. We are as prepared as possible and are on edge.”
