Max Verstappen drives a Ferrari in Mugello

Probably many Ferrari fans would be happy if a master of the level of Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen came to their favorite team, but the best drivers of modern Formula 1 are not going to change jobs in the near future.

However, the current world champion recently got behind the wheel of a car built in Maranello and everything happened on the Mugello circuit. According to the Swiss tabloid Blick, Max Verstappen drove a Ferrari 296 GT3 sports car there, but not just for his own pleasure: he acted as a mentor for 21-year-old DTM racer Thierry Fermuehlen, the son of his manager.

“After a few laps, Max was able to give him useful advice,” explains Raymond Fermuehlen, who has worked with Max for many years. But we are not aiming for Formula 1. I know how difficult it is to get there, and it is not so easy to breathe there. There are even more interesting series in motorsport.

Thierry not only receives good support from the Swiss team Emil Frey Racing, but also from Max Verstappen. He also has an experienced teammate in the DTM, Jack Aitken.”

Fermuehlen Jr. finished his debut season in the DTM in 16th place in the individual standings and achieved 58 points in 16 races – his best result was 5th place on the German Sachsenring circuit.

Last Saturday, Max visited the base of the Emil Frey Racing team in Switzerland together with his manager and his son, discussed the results of joint tests and Max said: “I am happy to be able to help Thierry. I can also consider myself a member of this big family because I am also a fan of GT racing and race these cars in virtual races.”
