The day before, the Netflix Cup golf tournament took place in Las Vegas with the participation of professional golfers and Formula 1 drivers on the course of the elite Wynn Golf Club. Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz replaced racing suits with golf clubs.
The racers played in pairs with professionals and Carlos Sainz and Justin Thomas won. However, the award ceremony for the winners was no less colorful than the game itself. Carlos, who was holding a bottle of champagne in one hand and a victory cup in the other, dropped the trophy, which fell to the ground and split into two pieces.
As the Netflix press office joked, Carlos probably wanted to share part of his cup with Lando Norris, referring to the episode that took place during the Hungarian Grand Prix awards ceremony, when Norris accidentally broke Max Verstappen’s cup.
