Alpine team driver Esteban Ocon is looking forward to the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix…
Question: How do you assess the outcome of a series of three races in a row and what do you expect from the remaining two stages?
Esteban Ocon: A series of three races in Austin, Mexico City and Sao Paulo became a serious test for everyone in Formula 1. Our team was able to learn a lot and experience many positive moments. In Brazil we scored points with two cars and that will also be the goal this weekend.
There are still two stages to go until the end of the season, we continue to work towards better results in qualifying and the race. Everyone in the team is focused on success, we want to end the season in a good mood.
Q: How did you recover and prepare for the Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi stages?
Esteban Ocon: After a long journey, it is always important to recover physically and mentally and spend time with loved ones. But we quickly transitioned to preparing for the stage in Las Vegas.
I trained in the gym, went to the Enstone base, where I took part in briefings and worked on the simulator.
We arrived in the US a little earlier this time, so I was able to spend a few days in Los Angeles for the first time, visiting the impressive UFC Performance Center in Las Vegas to learn more about the sport I love and the science behind it. it everything. It was great and now I feel ready to get back behind the wheel and experience what will be a fantastic experience for everyone at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Q: What do you think of racing in Las Vegas?
Esteban Ocon: Nothing is more interesting! We’ve been talking about Las Vegas for a long time and it’s great to finally be here.
Las Vegas is a legendary city that I think everyone should visit at least once, and the fact that the Formula 1 Grand Prix is held here still seems surreal!
A difficult weekend awaits us all, but we will do everything we can to achieve a good result. None of us have ridden on this circuit yet; this is a new experience for everyone.
The configuration looks interesting, with several medium-fast corners and a very long straight where we will drive for a long time with the accelerator fully depressed. We hope the Grand Prix will be exciting for all the fans who will watch the races in Las Vegas and around the world.
