Perez hopes to secure second place in Vegas

Two stages before the end of the season, Sergio Perez is 32 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the battle for second place in the individual classification. The Mexican Red Bull Racing driver hopes that he can guarantee himself the title of vice world champion in Las Vegas.

Sergio Perez: “Fighting for second place? I use the same approach as before: I concentrate on my own tasks. I am confident that we will achieve the maximum in the remaining two weekends.

Of course, it would be great to guarantee second place already in Las Vegas at the end of the season, but it is much more important to end the season with high results.

I’ve been to Las Vegas before, so I know the city well, but now we live in a different time zone. I think it’s a bit crazy to stay up that long; in some ways it adds to the challenge of this weekend.”

When asked whether the Las Vegas circuit is suitable for the RB19, Sergio replied: “We have no idea what the balance of power will be this weekend. The stage is different from any other this season with lower temperatures, so keeping the tires within the operating temperature range will be an important task. I wouldn’t call it a challenge, but it’s definitely different than anything we’ve done so far this season. An interesting Grand Prix awaits us.”
