Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz is optimistic about the team’s chances at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. According to the Spaniard, the characteristics of the urban highway should match the SF-23.
Carlos Sainz: “I didn’t run a lap around the circuit because with this weekend schedule I don’t understand when there will be full access to the circuit. However, I’ve done a lot of laps in the simulator and want to watch the safety car practice laps tonight to get an idea of how dusty the tarmac is and where the bumps are. The behavior of the safety car can give you an idea of how slippery the track is.
This weekend we have more hope for a good result than usual, because in theory the circuit should suit our car. Long straights and tight corners, such as in Monza and Singapore, suit us well.
Our car may not be very fast in the combination of turns one and two, but the rest of the lap should suit us better than the last circuits we raced on. Hopefully this will give us more opportunities.”
