The high cost of tickets for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is one of the reasons for criticism of the stage’s organizers. Main Grandstand tickets for all three days of the race weekend are still on sale for $3,072, compared to $768 for a day ticket.
AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo believes that the cost of tickets for Formula 1 stages should be affordable for everyone, not just wealthy fans.
Daniel Ricciardo: “Ticket prices, like everything else, need balance. I’ve heard some entry prices and understand that not everyone can afford tickets for that kind of money. But I would like everyone to be able to buy general admission tickets, regardless of what job they do.
Of course, if people want to spend money, there are crazy package deals available to them, and that’s fine. But I don’t want to hear someone say, “I’d like to go to a race, but I can’t afford it.” “Everyone has a different income level and it would be great if sport remained accessible to everyone.”
Daniel Ricciardo also commented on the weekend’s night format: “I don’t know what the reasons were for the compilers of such a weekend schedule, but perhaps there were some restrictions on access to the boulevard. We may be at the mercy of Las Vegas and its needs and demands. If Formula 1 had complete freedom, and I don’t think we did, I would be surprised if qualifying was still scheduled for midnight.
The weekend schedule is perfect for Australia, but I don’t know who else it would be suitable for. Anyway, everyone is on equal footing, and if the asphalt is slippery [из-за низкой температуры]then it will be smooth for everyone.”
