Aston Martin drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll achieved the third and eighth fastest times respectively in the second practice for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The team is happy with the day’s results, but believes they have not yet fully revealed the car’s potential.
Fernando Alonso (3rd): “Really interesting circuit with lots of different corners and long straights. The tires cool down faster at night, so it was difficult in severe braking zones.
The race can be interesting due to the fact that there are overtaking opportunities on the track. Let’s see if we can optimize the settings tomorrow.
We’ve had a confident first day, but like everyone else we still have some things we need to work on. Let’s see if we can reveal more of the car’s potential tomorrow. I think we will have a very exciting battle in qualifying and in the race.”
Lance walk (8th): “It’s an interesting and fast track – it’s great to race in Las Vegas. The cool temperature made it more difficult to warm up the tires, but we’ll see how everything goes tomorrow.
The gaps in the peloton are minimal, but I think we were quite competitive today. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
