Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc achieved the best time during the second free practice of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas (USA).
The Monegasque’s best lap time was 1 minute 35.265 seconds. His teammate, Spaniard Carlos Sainz (+0.517 seconds), is second. The leading trio is completed by Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin, +0.528).
The current world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) posted the 6th result (+0.918).
The first practice sessions for the Las Vegas Grand Prix ended earlier than expected after Sainz retired. The Spaniard’s car stopped on the track, after which red flags were hung. The Spaniard damaged the car by going through a drainage hatch. It was later established that the frame of one of the hatch covers in the first sector had been damaged.
Third practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday. The Las Vegas Grand Prix race will take place on Sunday.
