Abu Dhabi expects a new visitor record

This weekend marks the 15th running of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit, and organizers of the final race of the season expect another attendance record to be set, despite the fate of the championship’s top prizes already being decided is decided.

“We are ready for the race and the finishing touches have already been made,” Saif Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, which runs the World Cup national stage, told local newspaper The National. – The 15th Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises to be a unique event. Last year we set a record number of visitors, and this year we expect those numbers to be exceeded.”

In 2022, 140 thousand people visited the circuit during the race weekend, but this year the demand for tickets is again very high and the organizers even had to increase the capacity of the stands by adding additional sections, so it is quite possible that the latter annual record will be broken.

According to Al Noaimi, there will be “exciting surprises” for fans and important measures have been taken at the circuit to reduce the impact on the environment.

“We recently replaced all floodlights at the Yas Marina Circuit with a new LED lighting system, reducing overall energy consumption by 30%,” he continued. “This new system will also deliver a spectacular light show, with something special happening every day of the weekend, and we can’t wait to give audiences an unforgettable experience.”

I won’t give any details yet as we are preparing to reveal it over the weekend. In addition, Etihad Park will host concerts from world-class artists on each of the four days of the weekend.”

They include stars such as Chris Brown and Shania Twain, and the weekend will end with a performance by the Foo Fighters.
