With one round left of the season, Mercedes is four points ahead of Ferrari in the battle for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg believes his former team will look stronger in 2024 and Lewis Hamilton will challenge for an eighth championship title.
Nico Rosberg: “We have seen some bright flashes in the form of Mercedes recently, but they lack consistency. Remember the Austin round: they were fighting for the win, and their car was actually the fastest that weekend.
Mercedes is starting to understand the characteristics of their car, but as I said, they lack stability and speed on the straights, but they know the reasons for this. I believe in Mercedes’ capabilities, having played for this team myself. They employ the same people as before, and I know how strong they are. That’s why I believe Lewis Hamilton can challenge for the title again next year.
I will be happy if Mercedes wins because they have been my racing family in the past. But I’m neutral on Lewis. I just want to see an exciting title fight where the best man wins. But of course I’m not biased about who it will be.”
