Before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Haas team driver Kevin Magnussen summarized the season and admitted that his expectations for 2023 had not been met.
Question: How do you evaluate the past season?
Kevin Magnussen: The stage in Abu Dhabi closes the season, where our expectations were not met. The positive side was the fact that we fought even though the car had no competitiveness. We have always done our best and we will do the same in the last race in Abu Dhabi. I’m very happy that the season is over.
Q: What do you think are the most memorable moments of the season?
Kevin Magnussen: The most memorable moments come from good results. I scored points three times, which was good because we deserved those points. Of course, it is unpleasant that there were few points, but if you overcame all the problems and achieved results, that’s great.
Sometimes the points you earn don’t feel good because you didn’t get the most out of the car, but sometimes you feel happy with the points as if you won because they were difficult to get.
Q: What are your plans for the offseason?
Kevin Magnussen: In winter I enjoy a stable schedule. The first thing I’m going to do when I get home is start training with my coach again. I’m really looking forward to this, because I’ve decorated a new room at home. There is all the necessary fitness equipment, including crossfit equipment. Next year I will gain 15 kg of muscle mass. I hope this makes the car easier to drive!
