Ferrari continues to battle with Mercedes for second place in the Constructors’ Championship – with one round before the end of the season, the teams are separated by just four points. Scuderia boss Frederic Vasseur hopes his team leads the way, but admits the Abu Dhabi circuit is not as suitable for the SF-23 as the Las Vegas circuit.
Frédéric Vasseur: “The end of the season is approaching and it is time to make the final effort before taking a well-deserved rest. We did a really good job in Las Vegas to stay focused, even when faced with unusual situations. In Abu Dhabi we must act in the same way to overtake Mercedes in the battle for second place in the Constructors’ Championship.
We understand the car well and we know that we won’t be as competitive in Abu Dhabi as we were in Las Vegas. We understand that there are minimal differences between the teams occupying second, third and fourth places in the Constructors’ Championship.
In such a situation, every little thing can matter, and every point can be decisive. We will try to lead the way and do everything we can to achieve this.”
