It’s always a shame when the season is over. Just while he was still alive, we counted the days until the next race, we made predictions, we were happy and sad, and now he will become part of history. The last stage is just around the corner and we have to wait for the next race. There is snow outside the newsroom windows. Winter. It’s time to recap, but we’ll end this weekend and then we’ll get to the results.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concludes the 2023 season and a challenging series of five rounds in six weeks. From Las Vegas to Abu Dhabi there are more than eight thousand miles and twelve time zones. The last challenge this year for the teams at the end of a busy season, but the employees can sleep on the plane and then, after one day of tests, everyone has a long-awaited holiday.

As we often say in the editorial office of F1News.ru: the season starts when there is already snow in Moscow, and ends when there is still snow. But there are presentations of new cars coming up, the New Year, winter tests – life goes on.

There will be no changes in the composition of the teams – I wanted to see the youth, but Formula 1 is becoming more and more closed, organizing tours around the world with a well-known line-up of participants. The entry of newcomers will not help ticket sales until the veterans leave, unless the newcomer is from the country where the race is being held.

There are fewer and fewer stages where there are no local racers. Now these are Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Austria, Hungary, Singapore, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Admittedly, Logan Sargent, not the fastest American, finishes three American stages at the same time. Apparently that’s why he keeps performing.

The season turned out to be interesting. Not so much the sports component, but Liberty Media’s initiatives, but this always happens when those who are not particularly versed in this industry raise the issue. So finally they called Brown and Domenicali.

The new regulations did not work, although a lot was spent on them, there were no more overtakes, after the departure of Charlie Whiting a crisis arose with the technical leadership of the FIA ​​u200bu200band President Jean Todt actually resigned from power.
