Ocon: We want to end the season with a successful weekend

Esteban Ocon finished fourth in Las Vegas and hopes to build on his success in Abu Dhabi…

Q: In Vegas you made a great comeback to finish fourth after starting from 16th. How do you rate last weekend?
Esteban Ocon: Racing in such an iconic city is fantastically exciting. Thank you to the organizers for an event of this magnitude. It was an emotional weekend for me, from the incident in practice, the result in qualifying and fourth place in the race.

In the race I managed to avoid chaos at the start, then take care of the tires and maintain a good pace until the finish. We are very happy with this result, we deserve it.

After the podium in Monaco, this is my second best result of the season. I am very happy for the team and thank them for their hard work. Overall it was a positive weekend, in Las Vegas the car was competitive in qualifying and in the race. However, we still have a lot to analyze before the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Q: How are you feeling ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi?
Esteban Ocon: The season was long and intense. Everyone looks forward to a break to rest and recover. But now we are fully focused on doing well this weekend, building on the success we had in Las Vegas and ending the season on a high.

We know the Yas Marina circuit well. I will not participate in the first training this weekend. Jack Duane will be driving my car, but I know he will do a great job. We want to end the season with a successful weekend and give everyone in the team that extra boost heading into the off-season. This weekend we focus on ourselves, trying to avoid problems and earn points.
