Sergio Perez guaranteed himself the title of vice-champion at the end of the season. On Thursday, the Red Bull Racing driver spoke in Abu Dhabi about what such an achievement means to him.
Sergio Perez: “Second place at the end of the season is a great result. Over many years in Formula 1 I have always said that the only thing that matters is where you end up after the race in Abu Dhabi. That’s the only thing people will remember. Great achievement.
Of course I am concerned about the results of some weekends this year, but we have analyzed everything and now we understand the reasons much better. I’m happier about my year now than I was a few months ago. The team and I have learned a lot and made progress, which I am very happy with. Now I want to end the season with a high result.
A Formula 1 driver should never give up. You have to do your best regardless of the results. That’s exactly how I work.”
