The Monegasque’s result is 1 minute 24.809 seconds.
Lando Norris (McLaren, +0.043 seconds) finished second while three-time world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull, +0.173) finished third.
The session was interrupted twice by red flags – due to the accidents of Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Nico Hulkenberg (Haas), the drivers were not injured.
Third practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday as part of the final stage of the season. The race will take place on Sunday.
