AlphaTauri has prepared a number of technical innovations for the final stage of the season, and the team’s drivers are satisfied with their work, believing that the modernized AT04 car will allow them to compete for places in the top ten .
Daniel Ricciardo (12th): “I think we worked well today. In the first practice I immediately felt a change for the better, because the car received a number of updates and we could see that they were having an effect.
Before the second session we made some changes to the settings, in an attempt to fully utilize the potential of the upgraded AT04. But the session was interrupted more than once, which affected our program, but everyone was in a similar situation.
I’m sure we can still improve, so I’m not really worried about the results of the second training. We showed quite a decent pace on Medium tyres, so I think it is very possible to get into the top ten, but for that we have to do everything right.”
Yuki Tsunoda (15th): “Overall it was a positive day. We have collected a lot of information about the operation of new products prepared for this stage and discovered a lot. I can clearly feel the difference in the car’s behavior and we have taken a step forward in terms of efficiency of the AT04.
I hope this will allow us to fight to reach the qualifying final – I think we can do it. We will seize this opportunity and try to achieve the best possible results.”
