Pilot “Red Bull” Max Verstappen won pole position at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final stage of the Formula 1 season.
The three-time world champion’s best lap in the final segment was 1 minute 23.445 seconds. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) obtained the second result, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) qualified third.
Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz failed to make it out of the first qualifying segment, and seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) failed to make it out of the second.
The final race of the 2023 season will take place on Sunday and start at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time.
