During the British Grand Prix, seven people were arrested for breaking into the track

Northamptonshire Police have arrested seven people who went to the track during the British Grand Prix. Environmental group Stop Oil said it was behind the protest.

Chief Inspector Tom Thompson, who is overseeing the event, said: “I’m really disappointed that this group of people ignored our warnings before race day and made the incredibly dangerous decision to take the track.

We offered to hold a peaceful event at the racetrack, but instead they decided to put the lives of pilots, marshals and volunteers at risk. Incredibly disappointing that someone decided on this”, quotes the words of Inspector RaceFans.

As noted, a group of activists burst onto the track at the start of the race. However, the race itself was halted almost immediately after it started after a massive crash. The winner of the race was the driver of “Ferrari” Carlos Sainz.
