Max Verstappen took a convincing victory in the season finale, his 19th this year, once again breaking his own record. And to commemorate this achievement, after the race I did not deny myself the pleasure of spinning “doughnuts” on the start-finish line.
Max Verstappen: “It was of course an incredible season! On the last lap I got a bit emotional because this is the last time I will drive this car that has given me so much. Of course I’m very proud to have won this race, but I have to say a huge thank you to everyone at Red Bull!
An incredible year, it will be very difficult to repeat it, and we understand this, so now we must fully enjoy the success. Of course you always want to achieve more, but progress is not always measured only in race wins and championships.
We will do everything we can to ensure that we have a competitive car again next year, although other teams will of course try to beat us. But we are ready for such competition. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the end of this season!”
