Valtteri Bottas: I love the sprint

Before the start of the weekend at the Red Bull Ring, Valtteri Bottas said he loves the Austrian circuit and that the Alfa Romeo car allows him and his partner to fight for points. But most importantly, Guanyu Zhou is still in good shape and was not injured in the accident that occurred at the start at Silverstone.

Valtteri Bottas: “Of course we missed a good opportunity at Silverstone, but the important thing is still that accidents like the one on the first lap make you look at everything differently. I am very happy that my partner is still reasonably healthy, he is in a good mood and ready for the next race.

When we talk about my problems leading up to the descent, it’s always unpleasant when this happens. This really disappoints us and isn’t always associated with a specific problem – it’s a whole complex of factors. There are all kinds of difficulties that lead to us not earning points.

Talking about the upcoming Grand Prix, I’ve been able to show good results on the Austrian circuit and that’s positive. I really like the Red Bull Ring, the racing here is interesting, and it’s even more interesting to see how things turn out this weekend because now we have a new generation of cars and we have a sprint race ahead of us.

I’m sure the potential of our car will allow us to fight for points on both days of the weekend, and if my partner and I succeed it will be an ideal result. I like the sprint because we start fighting right away on track, and a weekend like that goes at an increased pace.
