The memory of Senna immortalized in the genre of street art

At the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, fans can see an unusual work of modern art, dedicated to Ayrton Senna.

Next year the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit will celebrate its 70th anniversary and over the course of its history it has witnessed many events, but the most dramatic was the accident that took the life of Ayrton Senna on 1 May 1994.

In Italy they decided in a special way to perpetuate the memory of the great Brazilian. The public coming to the track next weekend to watch the race will see a racing car, painted very unusually: the right side is a collage composed of elements of the design of cars in which Senna at different stages of his career, ie . Lotus, McLaren and Williams. And the left side looks like a street art work.

The new art project is based on an idea by Italian designer Matteo Machiavelli and a McLaren show car from collector Gianluca Tramonti. Machiavelli designed the right side of the car, and French street artist Jisbar, who somehow tried to combine different images and motifs with the memory of Senna, was responsible for painting the left side.

“My childhood memories are connected with Senna. I remember my father going to watch the races where Ayrton Senna fought Alain Prost,” said the artist.

First the car will be exhibited at the Senna Museum in Imola, then it will be taken to the next Grand Prix in Miami and from there to Monaco. At the end of the year, it will be sold at an auction and the proceeds will go to the Brazilian Senna Foundation.
