On Tuesday, the FIA released a statement on its investigation into the possible leak of confidential information. The reason was the publication in BusinessF1 magazine.
“The FIA is aware of media speculation that sensitive information has been passed to a Formula 1 team manager from a FOM employee. The FIA is studying this matter,” the official statement said.
According to the BusinessF1 publication, Wolff’s comments at a recent team management meeting, based on information that could only come from FOM, led to complaints from other bosses.
The crux of the situation is that Toto and his wife Susie, who heads the Formula 1 women’s academy, may be exchanging information. This raised fears that secret conversations between team leaders could be transferred to Formula 1’s top management. And vice versa – information from Susie, who reports directly to the head of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, becomes known to her husband. This caused the FIA to launch an investigation.
