The World Council has approved changes to the regulations

At a meeting in Baku, the World Motor Sports Council approved proposed changes to Formula 1’s technical and sporting regulations. We wrote about a lot of it.

The regulations will be published later, but the most important changes are:

– teams will install devices to cool the rider in extreme heat;

– the number and weight of the metal parts of the bottom, which could come loose from the machine in the event of an accident and could pose a hazard, are limited;

– the time spent working with cars in the pit lane before the start has been reduced from 50 to 40 minutes;

– for the first time, working with cars from the pit lane is regulated. For safety reasons, teams must remove all personnel and equipment 90 seconds after the start of the warm-up lap.

In addition, changes to the sporting, technical and financial regulations for the 2026 season were approved.
