Alpine F1 driver Esteban Ocon summarized the season…
Esteban Ocon: “This year we had some very good races, some good opportunities that we took advantage of, but there was no consistency. And there were too many meetings. And these meetings have cost us a lot. In total I have nine retirements, more than any other rider.
Without the gearbox problems in Singapore and the contact with Oscar in Austin I could have been in the top ten of the drivers’ standings, but we missed that opportunity.
I will resume training on December 17 and work until Christmas. Then a week’s break, and I will continue from January 2 until the first tests. I will do everything as before: no life, only racing.
This year we did a lot of off-piste events. Next season everything will change. We return to battle mode and fully concentrate on racing.”
