Ralf Schumacher believes that Formula 1 has gone too far with the expansion of the calendar to 24 races…
Ralf Schumacher: “24 Grands Prix next year is too much. At the end of this season, the main problem was the schedule of the Las Vegas Grand Prix – I don’t know anyone who did not get sick or catch a cold after this trip. This was too much. And I hope management understands this.
Stefano Domenicali knows everything about Formula 1, he grew up in motorsport, I hope he takes this problem seriously and tries to find a solution.
Another problem is related to the oversaturation of varieties. Families who love Formula 1 must watch the action for hours every weekend, 24 times a year. They’re just wasting their weekends.
I think it is better to have fewer races and more tests, as before, so that during the free weekends you can read a nice interview or story about the heroes of your sport in the Sunday newspaper. But now the subject of Formula 1 is so oversaturated that the media devote less and less space to it.
They don’t write about Formula 1 anymore, at least not in Germany. Only specialized magazines and a few newspapers remained. Racers and teams try to fill in the gaps with their own free content on social networks, but it doesn’t work out so well.
24 races in a season is too many. At some point our viewers will simply say: “Wait, we can’t do that now because we have a family holiday, we have a wedding, we can’t watch Formula 1 all the time.”
